Jeanie and Ron | Lasting Love Session | Northwest Arkansas Photographer

I think the last time I photographed an event other than a wedding was in 2011. It's been a long, long time. When Rachael contacted me about photographing her in-law's 40th anniversary party, I didn't think twice. This is a little different than my normal Lasting Love sessions, but wow, was it amazing.

It's so cool to me that I, a random stranger, got to experience the love that not only Jeanie and Ron share, but the love that their entire family shares for each other. And I know I'm not the only person who has been effected by their love.

Jeanie and Ron's story

Jeanie and Ron have always put Christ first in their relationship. They met and married while on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (now known as Cru).

(Fun side note: Ron stop dating Jeanie for a while, so she started going on dates with another guy. Ron then decided to propose to Jeanie, so she had to call the other guy and say she couldn't make it to their date on Saturday! Best story ever.)

After working for their family business for a while, they felt a call to go back into ministry with Campus Crusade, so they moved with their four children from Portland, OR to Miami, FL. After their three oldest children went off to college, they moved with Campus Crusade to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where they helped plant churches and shared the gospel with the Jesus Film for almost 10 years. They then moved to Costa Rica with Cru before finally settling down in Northwest Arkansas around two years ago to spend more time with family.

Jeanie and Ron have children all over the world. One in NWA, one in New York, one in Washington D.C., and one in Latvia.

In 40 years of marriage, Jeanie and Ron have lived in 4 states, 3 different countries, had 5 children (one who went to be with Jesus shortly after birth), 2 sons-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law, and 10 grandchildren, with 1 on the way.

Nowadays, Jeanie loves volunteering at Beautiful Lives Boutique and Ron still takes the Jesus Film to share the gospel in South America. They both teach an English class and are very involved with New Heights Church.

They have lived a very full and happy life, and I am so lucky to have been a part of it, even if just for a few hours. I have not met a family so genuine in a long time. It was such an honor photographing this milestone and I seriously smiled the whole time I was there AND while I was editing the photos.

My favorite part of the party:

Jeanie and Ron instilled a passion for music in their children, which has been passed down to their grandchildren too. Their children and grandchildren both performed a hymn, and since her daughter in Latvia couldn't make it to the party, her family recorded a hymn that was played as a surprise for Jeanie and Ron.
